Assignments from courts, prosecutors and police
An enquiry may concern procedural documents, notices of rights, records, orders, judgments and material submitted for translation. For interpreting, provide the time, location, language and details of the organising authority.
Please identify the authority, contact person, language, and exact location and time of the appointment. For written translation, specify the case-file sheets, volumes or files required. If some material has priority, mention it in the enquiry so that we can agree the order of work and a feasible deadline.
Case files and electronic material
Extensive records require a defined scope: volumes, numbered pages, attachments, files and recording segments. Preserving reference labels helps locate the relevant source and prevents misunderstandings at delivery.
In messages and reports, I retain references that allow the translated passage to be located in the source. Recording extracts, any transcription and material in several languages need separate agreement. We arrange access before case files are sent; the first message can simply describe the collection.
The translator’s role and qualifications
A translator conveys content in another language and does not decide the case or replace a defence lawyer. My sworn translator authorisation covers Ukrainian. Russian and English services are non-certified general and specialist translations; requirements for a particular procedural activity should be agreed with the authority.
