The translator in criminal proceedings: what to know
Questioning, service of charges and attendance at a hearing require an understanding of the language of the proceedings. In cases involving a Ukrainian speaker, the language, scope of the activity and materials needed by the translator should be established in advance. This helps prevent misunderstandings and prepare the translation properly.

With extensive case files, a clearly defined scope saves the most time. The number of files alone does not show how many documents need translation, whether every page is complete or what must be delivered. A well-prepared inventory makes it easier to agree a realistic deadline and scope.

A reliable quote starts with the material and the purpose of the translation. Different spellings of the same surname can make it harder to establish that documents relate to one person.
